Raw Oyster Bar is a trendy and modern oyster bar located in Coal Harbour. The targeted demographic is younger persons age 18-35. The restaurant has a clean, modern and minimalist look. The setting is “smart-casual” or semi-formal.
The intention is for guests to feel like they are enjoying an up-scale establishment without the pressure of “behaving”. This is reflected in their ad campaign, which features cheeky jokes. Because oysters are famous for their reputation as an aphrodisiac, and because Raw is intended to be a “date-night” location, some of the ads and accessories have suggestive captions. This is meant to contrast with the “classy” theme and make visitors laugh and feel at ease.

Goal: To create a logo, advertisements and restaurant accessories representing this motif, while remaining somewhat subtle (aim for guests to do a double take at the odd off-colour joke on accessories, rather than have it smack them in the face).

The oyster logo is simple, clean and streamlined to reflect the minimalist vibe of the brand, and is a combination of different shades of black and grey.
